The collection hosted in the Digital Repository of the Municipality of Arta comprises 1,711 items documenting the natural, historical, and cultural landscape of the city, and highlighting the historical development of its urban and rural environment. The collection is organized into thematic categories -churches and monasteries, squares, archaeological sites, monuments, districts, as well as contemporary infrastructures and cultural spaces, forming a multilayered record of local geography and memory.
The collection is characterized by the predominance of photography, which serves as the primary medium for documenting spaces, monuments, and architectural heritage. These photographic records capture both historical and contemporary views of the city, contributing to the study of urban development and local identity.
Complementing this material, three-dimensional objects and works of art—such as buildings, churches, archaeological sites, and selected movable artifacts (vessels, tiles, sculptures)—alongside 3D scan models further enhance documentation, offering new possibilities for digital access and the study of public history.
