Ο Άγιος Σώζος βαστά gατζόνα. Ήταν τζοbαν'ς. Μικρός άγιος, αλλά θαματουργός. Μια φορά κάdαν δυο Ρωμνιοί κι' ένας Τούρκος. Καθόνταν και τρώγαν. Λέγ' τότ' οι Ρωμνιοί : - Μικρός ο άγιος Σώζος, μα θαματουργός. - Εγώ, λέει ο Τούρκος, να πά να πάρω τη gαdήλα κι' έκανε να βγή απ' τη bόρτα, δεν ήβλεπε, στραβώθηκε. Τότε γυρίζ' και λέει : - Άγιο Σώζο, σώσε με, να ιδώ το φώς μου και θα σου φέρνω κάθε χρόνο έναν τενεκέ λάδ' κι' ένα κουρbάν'. Και βάζ' μια λίρα στο καdήλι απάν' κι' είδε το φώς του και κάθε χρόνο έφερνε το λάδ' και το κουρbάν!

Μια μέρα, το Μά’, πήγα στην Ατσκή και το γιόμα με σιούρdισαν. Ήφκα πόνα σπίτι πήρα το δρόμο, βρέθκα αλλού, με φαίνταν που ο ήλιος βασίλευε στο Μούδρος. Με βαστούσαν τα μάτια, μαθέ τσατίζω έναν άθρωπο και δείξε τα Σβέρδια. Τότε πια κατάλαβα και βρήκα το δρόμο. Σα bήγα ξανά, κειός άθρωπος που πήγα, μ’ είπε «τον τάδε τον πήραν οι οξαπεδώ» και τον πήγαν σ’ ένα μετόχι κι απεκεί σε μιαν αgλησά και κει κατάλαβε. [Μούδρος= δηλ. προς Αναβολάς.]

Στα Σβέρδια βρίσκονται και γύρω στα σπίτια σκελετοί και όχι ξαπλωμένοι μονάχα, αλλά και ζαρωμένοι ή καθιστοί. Είναι απ' τον καιρό της χολέρας (απάν' τα πόδια κι το κεφάλ') όταν δεν τους έθαβαν κανονικά, αλλά όπως μπορούσαν.
