The Michael Cacoyannis Foundation (MCF) was established in 2004 by the great Greek Director, Michael Cacoyannis, with the aim of studying, supporting, and promoting the arts of theater and cinema. In the autumn of 2009, the Cultural Center of the Foundation began its operation on Piraeus Street, in the heart of the new axis that now marks the center of the cultural life of the capital. It is a multidimensional space that, in accordance to the vision of its founder, was designed and implemented to bequeath to both the future generations of artists in the country and its citizens a modern, accessible to all, and hospitable cradle for the cultivation and promotion of the arts. It is the first cultural multiplex in Greece to receive ISO 20121 certification from TÜV AUSTRIA HELLAS for the design and implementation of events, performances, and exhibitions. With a priority on the sustainability of each project, the programming of the MCF is based on partnerships with recognized institutions and distinguished artistic groups from Greece and abroad, within an existing, open network of communication that is constantly expanding. With a core belief in the necessity of open and accessible contemporary art in society, the MCF continues to intensify its efforts to attract the public and is rewarded each day by the response, which embraces every action.
