Beam 9 miles and focal height 12 meters. It is the second torch that the British lit in the Ionian Islands during the period of the Ionian Ionian State, the first being that of the Acropolis of Corfu (1822). It is located on the right side of the entrance to the port of Argostoli. At this point there was an abandoned windmill and a circular balcony was built there in the middle of its height, with a series of columns for its support. This lighthouse is unique in its kind as an architectural monument. It joined the Greek Lighthouse Network in 1864, when the Union of the Ionian Islands with Greece took place. In 1941 it was destroyed by the Germans and reopened in 1945.
Φωτοβολία 9 μίλια και εστιακό ύψος 12 μέτρα. Είναι ο δεύτερος πυρσός που άναψαν οι Βρετανοί στα Επτάνησα την περίοδο της Ιονίου Επτανησιακής Πολιτείας, με πρώτο, αυτόν της Ακρόπολης της Κέρκυρας (1822). Βρίσκεται στη δεξιά πλευρά της εισόδου στο λιμάνι Αργοστολίου. Στο σημείο αυτό υπήρχε ένας εγκαταλελειμμένος ανεμόμυλος και εκεί χτίστηκε εξώστης κυκλικός στο μέσο του ύψους του, με σειρά από κολώνες για την υποστήριξή του. Ο φάρος αυτός είναι μοναδικός στο είδος του ως αρχιτεκτονικό μνημείο. Στο Ελληνικό Φαρικό Δίκτυο εντάχθηκε το 1864, όταν έγινε η Ένωση της Επτανήσου με την Ελλάδα. Το 1941 καταστράφηκε από τους Γερμανούς και επαναλειτούργησε το 1945.
