Ο θολωτός τάφος 3 της Περιστεριάς ονομάζεται και “χρυσοφόρος”, διότι έδωσε σημαντικά χρυσά ευρήματα εντός λάκκου βάθους 80 εκατοστών. Ο λάκκος δεν περιείχε ίχνη οστών, ωστόσο σε κοίλωμα στο νότιο τοίχωμά του εντοπίστηκε μετακομιδή οστών σε πολύ καλή κατάσταση μαζί με φυλλάρια χρυσού και δύο σπασμένα μεγάλα αγγεία, τον πιθαμφορέα και τον ραδινό αμφορέα που εκτίθενται σήμερα στο Αρχαιολογικό Μουσείο Χώρας.

The tholos tomb 3 of Peristeria is a “gold-bearing” tomb, which yielded important golden finds in a pit 80 cm. deep. The pit itself did not contain any bones, however, in a cavity at its southern wall was discovered a transferral of bones in very good condition, accompanied by tiny golden leaves as well as by two large broken pottery vessels, namely the pithoid amphora and the elongated amphora with ellipsoid mouth, both exhibited in the Archaeological Museum of Chora.
