Δίδυμο αγγείο αποτελούμενο από δύο κύπελλα σφαιρικού σώματος τα οποία φέρουν χείλος που στρέφεται προς τα έξω. Ενώνονται σε δύο σημεία: α)στο επίπεδο του χείλους με τοξωτή κάθετη λαβή και β)στο ύψος της κοιλιάς με σωληνίσκο ή δεύτερη λαβή. Πατούν σε επίπεδη βάση. Τα σύνθετα αγγεία είναι διαδεδομένα σ’ όλη την Κρήτη και τα ανασκαφικά δεδομένα συγκλίνουν στο συμπέρασμα ότι χρησιμοποιούνταν σε ιεροτελεστίες λατρευτικού τύπου. Αντίστοιχα αρχαιολογικά παράλληλα έχουν αποκαλυφθεί σε μυκηναϊκούς οικισμούς και νεκροταφεία αλλά σε μικρότερη κλίμακα. (EL)
Composite vessel, consisting of two twin beakers spherical in shape, with an outward turning rim. They are connected at two points: a) on the rim with an arch-shaped handle and b) on the belly with a small tube or second handle. Their base is flat. The composite vessels are very common in Crete and their archaeological context indicates that they were used in religious rituals. Equivalent vessels have been discovered in Mycenaean settlements and burial sites, but on a smaller scale than in Crete. (EN)
