Ο Δημήτρης Βόδενας (1892-1993) ήταν ναυτικός στο παλιό ατμοκίνητο θωρηκτό «ΥΔΡΑ» κατά τον Α΄ Παγκόσμιο Πόλεμο. Εγκαταλείφθηκε στο λιμάνι της Αλεξάνδρειας της Αιγύπτου, γιατί δεν πρόλαβε την αναχώρηση του πλοίου του, επειδή ξεχάστηκε διασκεδάζοντας σε μπαρ. Αναγκάστηκε να δουλέψει εκεί για να εξασφαλίσει το εισιτήριο της επιστροφής στην Ελλάδα. Υπήρξε από τους πρώτους κατοίκους του συνοικισμού Βότση.
Dimitris Vodenas (1892-1993) was a sailor on the old steam-powered battleship "YDRA" during the First World War. He was abandoned in the port of Alexandria, Egypt, because he missed his ship's departure, having been forgotten while partying in a bar. He was forced to work there to secure his ticket back to Greece. He was one of the first inhabitants of the Votsi settlement.
