Το μοναστηριακό συγκρότημα των Μετεώρων είναι το μεγαλύτερο και σημαντικότερο μετά το Άγιον Όρος στον ελλαδικό χώρο και χρονολογείται από τον 11ο αι. Στη λιθογραφία απεικονίζονται οι μονές και η περιοχή τους. Η ταυτότητα των μονών γίνεται με την αναφορά αριθμών, που παραπέμπουν στο υπόμνημα, στη βάση της λιθογραφίας, σε αντίστοιχους αριθμούς, όπου αναγράφονται τα ονόματά τους και μεταξύ αυτών το όρος Πλαχάβα, ο ποταμός Πηνειός, η πόλη Καλαμπάκα και ένας υδρόμυλος. Στην όλη σύνθεση προβάλλει το Μεγάλο Μετέωρο, όπου εκτείνεται η μονή της Μεταμορφώσεως με το καθολικό και τους χώρους του γύρω από αυτό.

The monasteries of the Meteora constitute the largest and the second most significant monastic community in Greece, preceded only by that on the Holy Mountain of Athos. It was built in the eleventh century. The monasteries on this print are numbered, with corresponding notes at the bottom of the lithograph. Apart from the names of the monasteries that are listed, there are also the names of Mountain Plakhava, River Pineios, the town of Kalambaka, and a watermill. The top part of the sheet contains the image of the Great Meteoron with the Monastery of the Transfiguration of Christ and the surrounding buildings.
