Η Μονή Παντοκράτoρος Αγίου Όρους. Λιθογραφία. Μέσα 19ου αι., Άγιον Όρος. Χαράκτης άγνωστος.
Το χαρακτικό έχει όλα τα τεχνοτροπικά γνωρίσματα της τέχνης των αγιορείτικων χαλκογραφικών εργαστηρίων. Επαναλαμβάνει, σε απλούστερο ύφος, χαλκογραφία του 1779 του αγιορείτη μοναχού και χαράκτη Παρθένιου. Το μοναστήρι, κτισμένο σε ψηλό βράχο στην ανατολική ακτή της χερσονήσου του Αγίου Όρους, μοιάζει στο χαρακτικό σαν να περικυκλώνεται από τη θάλασσα. Ιδρύθηκε στα μέσα του 14ου αι. από τους αδελφούς Αλέξιο και Ιωάννη, υψηλούς αξιωματούχους του βυζαντινού κράτους, και αφιερώθηκε στη Μεταμόρφωση του Χριστού. [Πηγή: Α. Τούρτα και Στ. The engraving has all the stylistic hallmarks of the art of the Athonite engraving workshops. It reproduces, in a simpler style, an engraving of 1779 by the Athonite monk and engraver Parthenios.
The monastery, built on a high rock on the east coast of the Athos peninsula, appears in the engraving to be completely surrounded by the sea. It was founded in the middle of the 14th century by the brothers Alexios and Ioannis, high-ranking officials of the Byzantine emprire, and was dedicated to the Transfiguration. [Source: A.
