Κιονίσκος με συμφυές κιονόκρανο, πιθανώς από κιβώριο.
Έχει τη μορφή μονόλιθου κιονίσκου με αρράβδωτο κορμό που απολήγει σε ταινία και επιστέφεται με κορινθιάζον κιονόκρανο με ισχυρό άβακα. Πιθανόν στο κάτω μέρος είχε συμφυή βάση. Το κιονόκρανο κοσμείται με τέσσερα συμμετρικά οξυκόρυφα καλαμόφυλλα με αιχμηρή απόληξη και εγχάρακτες νευρώσεις, μια κεντρική και τέσσερις πλάγιες.
Μαζί με άλλους παρόμοιους κιονίσκους στήριζαν πιθανόν την Αγία Τράπεζα, που τοποθετείται στον ιερότερο χώρο του ναού- στην κόγχη του ιερού -όπου τελείται το μυστήριο της Θείας Ευχαριστίας. Η Αγία Τράπεζα αρχικά ήταν κινητή, ξύλινη ή καλυμμένη με πολύτιμα υλικά. Από τον 4ο αι. αποκτά χαρακτήρα σταθερής κατασκευής, συνήθως από μάρμαρο και σπάνια από χρυσό.

This piece has the form of a monolith colonette with an unfluted body that ends in a strip and is crowned with a Corinthian-like capital with a strong abacus. It probably had a projecting base at its bottom part. The capital is ornamented with four symmetrical reed leaves which are pointed at the top and have sharp endings and engraved ribs, one central and four on the side.
Along with other similar colonettes, this one probably supported a Holy Altar, which is situated at a temple’s most sacred place – the sanctuary’s conch- where the mystery of the Eucharist is celebrated. Altars were originally mobile, wooden or covered with precious material. From the 4th century they became a solid construction, usually made of marble and, rarely, of gold.
