Απεικονίζεται η τελετή της παρασκευής («έψησης») του αγίου Μύρου επί πατριαρχείας Ιωακείμ Γ΄ που πραγματοποιήθηκε στις 3 Απριλίου 1903. Η λιθογραφία αντιγράφει φωτογραφία που είναι αναρτημένη στην είσοδο της πατριαρχικής βιβλιοθήκης. Η παρασκευή του Αγίου Μύρου από 40 αρωματικά φυτά είναι ένα λαμπρό γεγονός το οποίο πραγματοποιείται στο Οικουμενικό Πατριαρχείο Κωνσταντινουπόλεως κάθε 15 χρόνια. Στην τελετή παρευρίσκονται επίσκοποι από όλες τις ορθόδοξες περιοχές, οι οποίοι παραλαμβάνουν το άγιο μύρο σε δοχεία για τις περιοχές όπου ποιμαίνουν. [Πηγή: A. The lithograph depicts the ceremony of the preparation of the Holy Chrism by the patriarch Joachim III, held on 3 April 1903. The photograph on which the lithograph is based hangs in the entrance of the patriarchal library. The Ceremony of the Preparation of the Holy Chrism from 40 aromatic plants, is a splendid rite carried out every fifteen years by the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople. It is attended by bishops from all Orthodox regions, who afterwards take the oil in containers back to the areas over which they exercise pastoral care. [Source: A.
