Χάλκινο νόμισμα, δεκαεξανούμμιο Ιουστινιανού Α΄ (526-562/3 μ.Χ.)
Στον εμπροσθότυπο ο αυτοκράτορας σε προτομή προς τα δεξιά, με διάδημα, θώρακα και paludamentum (στρατιωτικός μανδύας). Περιμετρικά αναγράφεται DN[IVSTINI] ANVSPPAV (Dominus Noster Iustinianus Perpetuus Augustus, Ο Κύριός μας ο Ιουστινιανός ο αιώνιος Αύγουστος).
Στον οπισθότυπο στο κέντρο αναγράφεται IS (16 νούμμια) αριστερά Α και δεξιά Ρ, γράμματα που χαρακτηρίζουν τις εκδόσεις του νομισματοκοπείου της Θεσσαλονίκης του Ιουστινιανού. Πάνω σταυρός και κάτω στο έξεργο TES δηλώνει το νομισματοκοπείο της Θεσσαλονίκης.

Copper coin, sixteen nummi of Justinian I (526-562/3).
On the obverse the emperor's bust to the right, wearing diadem, cuirass and paludamentum (military cloak). All around there is the inscription DN[IVSTINI] ANVSPPAV (Dominus Noster Iustinianus Perpetuus Augustus).
On the reverse in the centre there is the lettering IS (16 nummi), on the left A and on the right P, letters which accompanied the mintings of the Thessaloniki mint. There is a cross at the top and at the bottom in the exergue TES signifying the mint of Thessaloniki.
