Ταύτιση φορέα του οικόσημου: Jacopo Foscarini, Βενετός γενικός προβλέπτης Κρήτης (1574-1577) (EL)
Ιστορικό Σημείωμα: Οίκος Βενετών πατρικίων, που έδωσε μεταξύ των άλλων ένα δόγη της Βενετίας (18ος αι.). Το συγκεκριμένο οικόσημο τοποθετήθηκε στα τείχη του Ηρακλείου με την ευκαιρία οχυρωματικών εργασιών του έτους 1575.Υπενθυμίζεται ότι το Ηράκλειο διετέλεσε υπό βενετική κυριαρχία από τις αρχές του 13ου αιώνα έως το 1669. Identification of the bearer: Jacopo Foscarini, Venetian provveditore generale of Candia (1574-1577) (EN)
Historical Notice: Venetian patrician house, including a doge of Venice (18th c.). This particular coat-of-arms was posed on the walls of Irakleio during the works of fortification carried out in 1575. Irakleio was under Venetian rule from the early 13th century to 1669. (EN)
