Ιστορικό Σημείωμα: Οίκος γαλλικής καταγωγής που κατείχε τη βαρωνεία του Γερακιού στη διάρκεια του 13ου αιώνα. Το οικόσημο αυτό (θυρεός αβακωτός ή κατάρρομβος, με τελαμώνα) βρίσκεται στην κορυφή ενός προσκυνηταρίου, στο ναό του Αγίου Γεωργίου, στο κάστρο του Γερακιού. Αποδίδεται με επιφύλαξη, καθώς υπάρχουν αμφιβολίες για την ακριβή απόδοση του ονόματος (Νιβηλέ, Nivelet, Nivelles, Neuville, Nevilles κ.ά.) και, σε κάθε περίπτωση, το οικόσημό τους δεν μαρτυρείται από άλλες πηγές.

Historical Notice: French family who, after the Fourth Crusade, took possession of the barony of Geraki, during the 13th century. This coat-of-arms ("blason losangé ou échiqueté, chargé d’une bande") is to be found in the church of Agios Georgios, inside the castle of Geraki. It is attributed to the particular family with some cautiousness, since there are some doubts even about its name (Nivelet, Nivelles, Neuville, Nevilles etc) and, in any case, its coat-of-arms is not testified from any other sources.
