Ιστορικό Σημείωμα: Πολύκλαδος οικογένεια της Κεφαλληνίας, ιταλογερμανικής καταγωγής (Theobald), με τίτλο ευγενείας από τον 15ο αιώνα. Μέλη της συμμετείχαν στην Επανάσταση του 1821. Ο Γ. Ε. Τυπάλδος (το έγραφε Τιπάλδος), υπήρξε Πρόεδρος του Εραλδικού Τμήματος της Ιστορικής και Εθνολογικής Εταιρείας (1925) και συνέταξε με τη συνεργασία του Ευγένιου Ρίζου-Ραγκαβή,το πρώτο συστηματικό Εγχειρίδιον Οικοσημολογίας (1926) στην ελληνική γλώσσα. Historical Notice: Family of Kefallinia with Italian and German origins (Theobald) and a title of nobility since the 15th century. Members of the family participated in the Greek War of Independence. G. E. Tipaldos, a pioneer heraldist himself, spelled his family name with an "i" instead of the usual "y". (EN)
