Ιστορικό Σημείωμα: Οίκος Βενετών πατρικίων, που έδωσε μεταξύ των άλλων τέσσερις δόγηδες της Βενετίας (12ος, 13ος και 14ος αι.) και έντεκα δούκες της Κρήτης (13ος, 14ος και 15ος αι.). Το συγκεκριμένο οικόσημο ανήκει πιθανότατα σε μέλος του κλάδου που είχε εγκατασταθεί στην Κρήτη και αργότερα εξελληνίστηκε.

Historical Notice: Venetian patrician house, including four doges of Venice (12th, 13th and 14th c.) and eleven dukes of Crete (13th, 14th and 15th c.). This particular coat-of-arms probably belongs to a member of the branch settled in Crete and later assimilated into the insular Greek community.
