Ιστορικό Σημείωμα: Γενοβέζικος οίκος που εμφανίστηκε στο Αιγαίο τον 15ο αιώνα (Θάσος, Χίος, Άνδρος) και από τις αρχές του 17ου εγκαταστάθηκε στη Νάξο, όπου απέκτησε σημαντικά φέουδα. Σε μέλος της οικογένειας αυτής ανήκει το εικονιζόμενο οικόσημο, που βρίσκεται σε τάφο επί του δαπέδου της Καθολικής Μητρόπολης στο Κάστρο της Νάξου. Από άλλο κλάδο του ίδιου οίκου κατάγεται και η δυναστεία που ηγεμονεύει, από το 1342, το πριγκηπάτο του Μονακό.

Historical Notice: Genoese family whose presence in the Aegean is attested since the 15th c. and its establishment in Naxos since the 17th c., where the Grimaldis acquired important feuds. This particular coat-of-arms belongs to a member of this family and is to be found on a tombstone in the Catholic Cathedral, in the citadel of Naxos. From another branch of the same family descends the ruling dynasty of the Principality of Monaco (since 1342).
