Ιστορικό Σημείωμα: Το έμβλημα του Πατριαρχείου Αλεξανδρείας (εδώ τοποθετημένο στο επιτύμβιο μνημείο των αρχιερέων του πατριαρχείου στο Α' Νεκροταφείο Αθηνών) απεικονίζει τον πτερωτό λέοντα του Ευαγγελιστή Μάρκου, επιστεφόμενο από την αρχιερατική μίτρα. Στην απεικόνιση που υπάρχει στο πατριαρχικό μέγαρο της Αλεξανδρείας, ο λέων περικλείεται επιπλέον εντός ηγεμονικού μανδύα (manteau).

Historical Notice: This particular crest of the Patriarchate of Alexandria is to be found on the grave of clericals of the Patriarchate, buried in the 1rst Cemetery of Athens. It depicts the winged lion, symbol of Saint Mark, surmounted by the episcopal mitre. In the depiction of the crest to be found in the Patriarchal Mansion in Alexandria, the lion is also surrounded by a sovereign's manteau.
