Institution : Thessaloniki Olympic Museum
Service provider : Thessaloniki Olympic Museum
The Olympic Museum of Thessaloniki showcases a selected collection of one hundred (100) representative exhibits covering both the modern Olympic Games and the athletic history of Greece. This collection consists of various historical artifacts and memorabilia dating from 1896 to the present. The exhibits have been digitized and digitally recorded using the "Museum Plus" platform, enabling their three-dimensional or two-dimensional representation. The project aims to highlight these exhibits through digital media and technologies. The process includes three-dimensional scanning of fifty (50) exhibits and two-dimensional scanning of photographic memorabilia and historical documents for the remaining fifty (50) exhibits. The digital material will be used to enrich digital exhibition applications, such as online exhibitions, "View Master" projections, large-scale video projections, and virtual flyover.
