Realised by the Municipality of Prosotsani in collaboration with the Charitable Municipal Organisation of the Municipality of Prosotsani (CMOP), the digital exploration of the cave of Aggitis is an electronic presentation of one of the largest river caves in the world. The cave is situated at a distance of approximately 25km northwest of the city of Drama, within the Municipality of Prosotsani, by Piges village. The uniqueness of the cave lies in the fact that the river Aggitis runs through it. The services provided to the users of the digital exploration combine groundbreaking internet technology, museum and historical knowledge usage, three-dimensional interface and virtual and augmented reality. The user may browse and discover the rich interior of the cave through applications of virtual browsing and 360° panoramic tours. In this way, the user is offered a time and space tour through the use of three-dimensional representations of the cave, enjoying and benefiting from a multifaceted cultural as well as educational experience.
