The collection includes a series of points of interest located within the monument of the Old Town of Corfu, which has been inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2007 under the designation Old Town of Corfu.
It comprises of photos of public and private buildings, churches, museums, monuments, and other sitesThe collection was created for the project “Digital Guided Tour Using Augmented Reality and Holograms,” implemented by the Ionian University Research Committee, the InArts Interactive Arts Lab of the Department of Audio and Visual Arts, and the Ephorate of Antiquities of Corfu. The aim of the project—funded through the Ionian Islands Operational Programme 2014–2020 with co-financing from the European Union (MIS: 5031254)—was to present a comprehensive view of the monuments encompassed in the Old Town of Corfu, offering historical information for each point of interest together with multimedia content created specifically for this purpose.
