(EL)
The church of Saint Nicholas of the Baths (Agios Nikolaos ton Loutron) is located in Faliraki in the area of Loutra (Baths) from which it was named after. According to sources the church existed since 1502 but a preserved inscription states that it was built in 1579. Originally, the church belonged to the Katsina family. At the beginning of the 20th century, the church as property was transferred to the State and then it was renovated. According to tradition, the church was erected in memory of the passing of the relics of Agios Nikolaos from the island in 1087 when the relics were being transfered to Bari in Italy. This occasion is celebrated on 20 May. (EN)
