The Typaldos Iakovatos of Cephalonia are one of the many branches of the Typaldos family. Already at the beginning of the 16th century there are testimonies that the progenitor of the family, Kolela Typaldos was awarded by the Venetian Administration of the island a large property, a "barony", specifically in the area of Paliki (Typaldata). All branches of the Typaldos were among the powerful families of Paliki and as owners of large property they were considered "noble" and participated in the Council of the Community throughout the Venetian rule on the island (1500-1797). The Iakovatos family owned considerable real estate in the wider area of Paliki, inherited from the breakup of the original barony of the Typaldos, from which they essentially ensured their income by cultivating mainly raisins, which they traded. The Iakovatos brothers, alongside their separate professional activities, were interested in and contributed to the management and increase of this joint property by purchasing estates in the region of Achaia.;Charalambos Typaldos Iakovatos was a doctor and politician-MP of Kefallinia (Palis). He was elected MP six times, not consecutively. He was elected in the following years: 23/9/1863, 14/5/1865, 21/3/1868, 16/5/1869, 23/6/1874, 23/9/1879 (EN)
