Ιστορικό Σημείωμα: Αυτό το οικόσημο βρίσκεται σχεδιασμένο μαζί με άλλα (υπό τύπο graffiti) σε εσωτερικό τοίχο του ναού της Μεταμόρφωσης του Σωτήρος, στο χωριό Κεφάλι Κισσάμου της Κρήτης (σε υψόμετρο 440). Οι μελετητές Δημήτρης Τσουγκαράκης και Ελένη Αγγελομάτη-Τσουγκαράκη το αποδίδουν στην οικογένεια Βαρούχα, μια των 12 οικογενειών των αναφερομένων ως "Αρχοντόπουλων", ενδεχομένως βυζαντινής προέλευσης, στην οποία επί Βενετών είχε αναγνωριστεί τίτλος Κρητικής ευγενείας ("Nobili Cretensi"). Historical Notice: This coat-of-arms is engraved, among others (in the form of graffiti), inside the church of Metamorfosi Sotiros, in the village of Kefali (440 alt., Kissamos, Crete). The scholars Dimitris Tsougarakis and Eleni Angelomati-Tsougaraki propose its attribution to the family of Varucha, of alleged Byzantine origins (one of the 12 so-called "Archontopoula"), bearing under the Venetians a title of Cretan nobility ("Nobili Cretensi").
