Ιστορικό Σημείωμα: Οίκος Βενετών πατρικίων, που έδωσε μεταξύ των άλλων ένα δούκα της Κρήτης (14ος αι.). Το συγκεκριμένο οικόσημο ανήκει στον καστελλάνο της Μεθώνης Vitale Miani. Υπενθυμίζεται ότι η Μεθώνη διετέλεσε υπό βενετική κυριαρχία για δύο περιόδους, από το 1206 έως το 1500 και από το 1686 έως το 1715. (EL)
