Ιστορικό Σημείωμα: Οίκος Βενετών πατρικίων, που έδωσε μεταξύ των άλλων ένα δούκα της Κρήτης (15ος αι.). Το συγκεκριμένο οικόσημο αποτελεί τμήμα πενταμερούς σύνθεσης που τοποθετήθηκε στα τείχη του Ηρακλείου με την ευκαιρία οχυρωματικών εργασιών του έτους 1565. Υπενθυμίζεται ότι το Ηράκλειο διετέλεσε υπό βενετική κυριαρχία από τις αρχές του 13ου αιώνα έως το 1669. (EL)

Historical Notice: Venetian patrician family, including one duke of Crete (15th c.). This particular coat-of-arms is part of a heraldic ensemble which was posed on the walls of Irakleio during the works of fortification carried out in 1565. Irakleio was under Venetian rule from the early 13th century to 1669. (EN)
