Ιστορικό Σημείωμα: Εραλδικό σύνολο με τα οικόσημα του Μεγάλου Μαγίστρου του Τάγματος του Οσπιταλίου του Αγίου Ιωάννου της Ιερουσαλήμ Emery d' Amboise (άνω) και ενός άγνωστου Ιωαννίτη ιππότη (κάτω), πιθανόν καστελλάνου ή κομεντόρη (διοικητή) της νήσου (βλ. επιμέρους θυρεούς). Υπενθυμίζεται ότι η Λέρος παρέμεινε υπό την κυριαρχία των Ιωαννιτών από τις αρχές του 14ου αιώνα μέχρι το 1522. (EL)

Historical Notice: Heraldic ensemble bearing the coats-of arms of Emery d' Amboise, Grand Master of the Order of the Hospital of Saint John of Jerusalem (on the upper part), and of an unknown knight hospitaller (placed underneath), probably a castellan or commander of the island (see each coat-of-arms in particular). Leros was occupied by the Hospitallers from the beginning of the 14th century to 1522. (EN)
