Ιστορικό Σημείωμα: Οίκος γαλλο-ιταλικής καταγωγής (Sommerive, Sommariva, Sommaripa), που εγκαταστάθηκε στο Δουκάτο του Αιγαίου τον 14ο αιώνα και εξουσίασε τα νησιά Πάρο, Αντίπαρο και ʼνδρο, ενώ κατείχε και φέουδα στη Νάξο. Το συγκεκριμένο οικόσημο αποδίδεται στον οίκο των Σομμαρίπα (αλλά χωρίς το ζωνοφόρο πεδίο) και συνοδεύεται από εκείνο του οίκου των Κρίσπων. Υπενθυμίζεται ότι η Καντιάνα-Σεσίλια Σομμαρίπα είχε παντρευτεί τον δούκα Ιάκωβο Δ΄ Κρίσπο.

Identification of the bearer: Cantiana-Cecilia Sommaripa, duchess of the Archipelago

Historical Notice: Noble family with French and Italian origins (Sommerive, Sommariva, Sommaripa), established in the Duchy of Archipelago in the 14th century, which ruled the islands of Paros, Antiparos and Andros, while possessing feuds in Naxos as well. This particular coat-of-arms (lion rampant looking left) is attributed to the Sommaripa family (without the barry field, though) and is to be found next to that of the Crispi family. Notably, Cantiana-Cecilia Sommaripa was married to the duke Jacopo IV Crispo.
