The Thessaloniki International Film Festival’s Archive is an invaluable legacy for all lovers of the history and evolution of cinema. 

The collection comprises of books about film theory and aesthetics; film director monographs; actor biographies; national cinemas; the history of film; dictionaries and annual guides; film genres (film noir, Westerns, etc.), screenplays, and the technical side of film. 

The periodical publications are an integral point of reference for the art and history of cinema. They have created a new cinematic chapter in terms of Greek reference books, bringing together original and never-before-published texts, in-depth interviews with film directors, detailed filmographies and a wealth of photographs. 

The HELLAFI collection of hand-painted giant movie posters is considered unique in the world. It includes original painted giant movie posters produced by most of the painters who turned to this type of art and representing various eras; preparatory sketches used to paint the giant movie posters; lithograph posters dating to the 1950s made by different artists; preparatory sketches used for printing lithograph posters; pencil sketches; and watercolor, ink and crayon works painted between 1950-1975.
