Repository of Municipality of Haidari  

The digital collection of the Municipality of Chaidari includes nearly 300 photographic records that document local landmarks, such as monuments, statues, parks, listed buildings such as the Palataki, public buildings, and sports facilities, as well as caves, ports, sections of Hierá Hodós (Sacred Way, the procession  route from Eleysis to the Athenian Acropolis), and archaeological findings of the region.  Amongst them, notable are the well preserved Byzantine murals of the Daphni Monastery and the house of Nikolaos Gyzis, as well as photographs of the interior of Block 15 of the Chaidari Concentration Camp, the jail unit where thousands of Jews and hundreds of Resistance fighters were imprisoned during World War II.
