Συσκευή καταπολέμησης του καρκίνου, μέρος του εξοπλισμού του νοσοκομείου ¨Θεαγένειο¨ της Θεσσαλονίκης. Στη λειτουργική της κατάσταση περιέχει ραδιενεργό κοβάλτιο (Co 60), που λαμβάνεται με τη βοήθεια κυκλοτρονίου ή βητατρονίου. Οι ακτίνες εστιάζονται στην περιοχή του όγκου και απελευθερώνοντας τη μέγιστη ενέργειά τους, προκαλούν την καταστροφή του. (EL)
