The digital collection of the Center for the History of Byzantine and Post-Byzantine Art focuses on the architectural and painted monuments, as well as other works of art from this period, with particular emphasis on Mount Athos.
The collection’s 1,534 items constitute a highly significant archive of architectural drawings, photographs, and views of the Athonite churches and monasteries, resulting from research conducted by the Academician and architect Pavlos Mylonas from 1954 until his death in 2005. The creation of this remarkably comprehensive Mount Athos archive was supported by students from the National Technical University of Athens, the Archaeological School of Thessaloniki, and the Athens School of Fine Arts.
