Letter by Battaglia Attilio to Eleftherios Venizelos, whom he had met in Crete in 1905 when he held the position of secretary to the legal interrogator of the Italian court-martial, lieutenant {Ladiechi}. He mentions that he repeatedly met him within the context of his responsibilities and that Venizelos, together with Foumis, had acted as a defense attorney in the case of the murder of an Italian soldier in Kabanos, Selino during the municipal elections, one month before the departure of Prince George from Crete. He ends by wishing success to Venizelos in his attempt to reconstruct Greece after his electoral victory in the 1928 elections.

Επιστολή του Battaglia Attilio προς τον Ελευθέριο Βενιζέλο, τον οποίο είχε γνωρίσει στην Κρήτη το 1905 όταν κατείχε την ιδιότητα του γραμματέα του δικαστικού ανακριτή του ιταλικού στρατοδικείου υπολοχαγού {Ladiechi}. Αναφέρει ότι επανειλημμένα τον συναντούσε στο πλαίσιο των αρμοδιοτήτων του και ότι ο Βενιζέλος είχε αναλάβει μαζί με τον Φούμη συνήγορος υπεράσπισης στην υπόθεση δολοφονίας ενός ιταλού στρατιώτη στον Καμπανό Σελίνου στο πλαίσιο διεξαγωγής των δημοτικών εκλογών ένα μήνα πριν την αποχώρηση του Πρίγκηπα Γεωργίου από την Κρήτη. Καταλήγει ευχόμενος για την ευόδωση της προσπάθειας του Βενιζέλου στην ανασυγκρότηση της Ελλάδας μετά την εκλογική του νίκη στις εκλογές του 1928. (EL)
