The collection of the Research Centre for Antiquity of the Academy of Athens includes selected items from the Academy’s international series Corpus Vasorum Antiquorum, Tabula Imperii Romani, and Corpus Signorum Imperii Romani. The Corpus Vasorum Antiquorum (CVA) is an international series of catalogues documenting ancient Greek ceramic vessels preserved in collections around the world. The project began in 1922 and since then approximately 400 volumes have been published. The catalogues produced by the Research Centre for Antiquity record pottery vessels held in Greek collections. The Tabula Imperii Romani (TIR) is an international series of catalogues featuring summary maps with record sheets and surveys of all Roman toponyms appearing in classical sources and in archaeological research conducted in countries that were formerly part of the Roman Empire. The volumes published by the Academy include maps of the Aegean Sea islands with annotated archaeological sites discussed in each volume. The Corpus Signorum Imperii Romani (CSIR) is an international catalogue series that systematically documents the sculptural and architectural heritage of the Roman Empire. Its volumes constitute an essential tool for the study of Roman sculpture and provincial art, recording monuments, museum collections, and archaeological finds.
