The digital collection of the Centre for the Study of Medieval and Modern Hellenism of the Academy of Athens comprises approximately 1,600 items, primarily textual materials, consisting mainly of letters dating from the sixteenth to the twentieth century. 

The material relates to the history and philology of Hellenism during the periods of Ottoman and Venetian rule, shedding light on aspects of the intellectual, social, and administrative life of the Greek world. Through the documentation and study of these sources, the collection contributes to the systematic research of medieval and early modern Hellenism and to a deeper understanding of the networks of communication, scholarly circles, and historical conditions of the period.
